Welcome to my January 2022 Newsletter Case Presentation
This newsletter describes in step by step detail James’s treatment with a novel teeth and palate supported upper metal base partial denture/occlusal stabilisation splint/obturator.
This 34 year old man was referred to me by his general dental practitioner for treatment.
Dental concerns
Poor overall appearance of the upper denture
Visible clasp on the upper right canine
Loose denture
Medical History
In 2009 (aged 18yrs) an odontogenic myxoma in the upper left maxilla was surgically removed along with the UR2 - UL7 teeth. An acrylic based prosthodontic partial denture/obturator was made was made and fitted post surgery in the NHS hospital system.

Diagnoses
Acrylic based partial denture/obturator had poor, retention and support
Obturator section was in poor condition - unhygienic
Adams clasp were causing inflammation of the gingival margins
Clasp on the UR3 was visible resulting in poor appearance
Reduced lip support on the upper left area
Sloping incisal plane - running up on the left
Increased wear of the natural dentition
