My Profile
I am currently a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the University Dental
Hospital of Manchester and am registered with the General Dental
Council as a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Endodontics.
After qualifying as a
dental surgeon in 1993, I worked in General Dental Practice for 6
years. In 1999 I obtained a Master’s degree in Fixed and Removable
Prosthodontics at Manchester University. I have completed Specialist
Training in Restorative Dentistry at Liverpool University Dental
Hospital. The 5½ year programme included Prosthodontics, Periodontics,
Endodontics and the surgical placement of dental implants. During this
training I completed a Ph.D., involving a randomised clinical trial,
testing patient satisfaction with different types of complete dentures.
My role as a Consultant
involves treating patients with complex restorative dental problems,
such as: denture intolerance, multiple missing teeth, previous trauma
and patients with cleft lip and/or palate. In addition, I train M.Sc.
postgraduates and Specialist Trainees in Fixed and Removable
Prosthodontics.
